Bouquets FAQs

Debbie Carlisle hand crafted wired vintage jewellery brooch bouquetHow are your bouquets made?

All bouquets are made by hand by Debbie Carlisle in her Sheffield studio. Every piece of jewellery, beads or buttons are individually wired together by hand and to create your own unique bouquet.

Debbie uses the best jewellery which is carefully sourced to suit your preferred colour and style, spending months scouring antique fairs and boutiques to find the perfect pieces for your design.

The resulting bouquet works like a real floral bouquet with all the pieces resting on wired 'stems' which weave into and around each other to create the most beautiful organic shapes.

Debbie does not use polystyrene or mesh to create her shapes, instead working freehand to create a natural look.

How soon should I book?

As a general rule, six to 12 months notice for bouquet orders is ideal - this gives Debbie plenty of time to source the best vintage pieces for your bouquet. However, shorter-notice orders are sometimes possible as Debbie keeps materials in stock and may even have the perfect item already made - just email hello@debbiecarlisle.com or use the contact form to check availability.

Do you get fully booked?

As every bouquet is handmade by Debbie only a limited number are made every year. Brides often book Debbie to make their bouquet more than a year in advance to be sure of securing their wedding date. Once you are sure you would like to commission Debbie get in touch as soon as you can to avoid disappointment and to give her the maximum amount of time to source the best materials for your chosen design. Wedding dates in May and September are most likely to book up in advance.

How do I pay?

Once you have agreed a design and price for a bouquet with Debbie, a 50 per cent non-refundable deposit will secure your booking and allow Debbie to source your materials.

You can pay your deposit by choosing the bouquet size on the drop down menu showing the design you would like - or you can get in touch to discuss commissioning Debbie to make your bouquet and then we can take payment by bank transfer or credit card.

No booking is guaranteed until the deposit has been paid and Debbie has accepted your order. Debbie will send progress pictures of your order and payment of the remaining 50 per cent, plus postage and packaging, becomes due only when you are satisfied with the photographs of your completed order.

When will I receive my bouquet?

Orders are prioritised by the date of the wedding - this ensures that Debbie can fit more orders into her diary and can plan around busier times of the year. Bouquets will generally be ready around one month before the wedding day or date of departure for the wedding destination. If you require your bouquet sooner than one month before your wedding this may be possible by request.

Will my bouquet be safe in the post?

All orders are beautifully presented and packaged lovingly to ensure they reach their destination in one piece.

How much does postage and packaging cost?

Postage and packaging for bouquets within the UK is free. Debbie has made bouquets for brides all over the world and welcomes orders from any country - just get in touch for a personalised postage quote. Please remember that customs fees are the responsibility of the customer.
