There’s something so beautifully ethereal yet vibrant about an autumn wedding which makes it the perfect season for so many wedding styles - from romantic to rustic, elegant to dramatic.
Spring and summer may have been traditional times to get married in the past but our changing climate here in the UK means autumn days are rarely chilly and often dry – and the natural tableau created by the changing leaves will provide a spectacular backdrop thanks to nature’s mix of rich reds, auburns, oranges, yellows and golds framed by evergreen foliage.
In terms of bridal style an autumn wedding is particularly suited to rich ivories and golds and if the bride or groom happen to have red hair this will work especially well!
Sheffield wedding photographer Shelley Richmond shot this gorgeous series of autumn wedding inspiration photographs at the city’s beautiful Botanical Gardens to show just how wonderful this time of year is for wedding photography.
The shots are by turn dramatic, romantic, ethereal and elegant – showing just how versatile an autumn wedding can be.
Megan, our beautiful redhead bride, wears my Sylvie gold wedding hair vine styled by hair and make-up artist Jenn Edwards which is teamed with an elegant rich ivory original vintage 1940s crepe wedding dress supplied by bridal gown designer Kate Beaumont which works perfectly with the rich russet autumn colours in this shoot.
The absolutely stunning autumnal wedding bouquet was created by Campbell’s Flowers and was the perfect finishing touch to Megan’s bridal look.
