A birdcage veil is a short bridal veil made from fine netting - usually French, Merry Widow or Russian net - that frames the face and instantly elevates your bridal look. Unlike a traditional tiara, which slots into your hair and relies on combs or a semi-circle pushed in at the temples, our crowns sit on a flexible headband base. That means real security through hours of dancing and no digging in at the end of a long day. Each piece is handwired, so the height and shape adjust to you rather than the other way round. Ribbon tie headbands
A ribbon tie headband is a delicate and feminine bridal hair accessory and is also one of the most comfortable and versatile headpieces you can choose!
All Debbie Carlisle ribbon tie headbands are handwired pieces that can also be worn as a hairvine - simply slip the ribbons out of the loops at the end and pin it into place instead.
Make a feature of the delicate ribbons by letting them hang loose and long, plait them into your hair or alternatively just tuck them ends away into your up-do so they can’t be seen.
A ribbon tie headband is supremely comfortable as the fabric stretches enough to sit comfortably on the head without digging in while also remaining secure. It's a great option for those who find traditional headbands uncomfortable or for those with thin, fine or short hair which won't hold a comb.
Ribbon tie headbands can be worn across the forehead for a 1920s or bohemian browband look, in traditional Alice band position for a more classic style or just above the hairline in 'tiara' position - a really pretty way to update this traditional style. Alternatively pin them in the back of a half up half down hair style or even draped down a plait or around a low bun.
