How to Create a Bespoke Wedding That’s Authentically You

A bespoke wedding is shaped by the people you invite into the process. The creatives who bring not just their skills, but their energy, instincts, and passion. And the secret to getting that kind of wedding? Choose suppliers you love, and with whom you feel a personal connection - and then trust them. It’s that simple.

Connection Is Key

Of course, it’s important to love someone’s work. But it’s just as vital to feel a connection with the person behind the portfolio. These are the individuals who will walk alongside you in the lead-up to your wedding, and in many cases will be there on the day itself. Their presence, energy and understanding will shape how your celebration feels - not just how it looks.

So when you’re choosing your wedding team, ask yourself:

  • Do they understand my vision?

  • Do I feel comfortable and heard?

  • Do we share values?

When the answer is yes, you’re on the right path to a wedding that feels like you.

Trust Is Where the Magic Happens

Once you’ve chosen your team, and given them your brief, the most powerful thing you can do is let go. The images you see here were created by a hand-picked team of expert wedding suppliers who were given a clear vision for this beautiful city wedding inspiration shoot, but were also given space to interpret that vision in their own unique way - and that’s when the magic happened.

Bespoke Wedding Earrings

My contribution was to design a series of bespoke wedding earrings, which I crafted especially for our model’s unpierced ears. Made with smooth and organically shaped pearls and gold detailing, they echoed the venue’s soft tones and the sculptural textures seen throughout the editorial.

I created the pieces to reflect the smooth and fluid shapes of the incredible gown and sculptural cake, with tones to reflect the elegant London venue’s gorgeous decor.

When Valeria Dolci, our cake designer and the driving force behind the shoot, received my bespoke earrings just days before the shoot she was inspired. So inspired, in fact, that she created exquisite edible baroque pearl chocolates to add a finishing touch to her place settings to sit alongside her stunning sculptural cake. The lifelike pearls sat in delicate edible dishes crafted to look like stunning tulip leaves and made the most delicate and unique favours.

How to Make Your Wedding Truly Personal

If you want your wedding to feel like a true reflection of you, here’s what I advise:

  1. Choose creatives whose work speaks to you – and whose values align with yours.
Go beyond the aesthetic. Look for shared vision, energy, and intention.

  2. Connect with them.
Share your ideas. Ask questions. Notice how they respond. That spark matters.

  3. Trust them.
Give them space to create. When you do, they’ll often go above and beyond what you imagined - and the results will be uniquely personal.

Creativity Needs Breathing Room

Whether it’s a pair of bespoke wedding earrings, a sculptural cake, or a carefully styled tablescape - the details that make your wedding yours come from trust.

When creatives are given the space to work freely, beautiful things happen. And sharing mood boards and images can help your creatives build a picture of your style and day and come up with ideas and inspiration that will really bring your whole day together with authentic intention.

So just because you want a bespoke wedding you don’t have to control every element. Choose well, connect deeply, and trust your team to bring your story to life in ways you never even thought of.
